VITA will start on February 1st, 2026 and end on April 14th, 2026.
If you want to volunteer, please fill out the VITA Interest Form and join the Mandatory VITA Software and Tax Theory Trainings that will be held through Zoom on:

We are accepting applications for volunteers until TBD.
*Please note that VITA will be hybrid for the 2025 tax season.

Schedule:
Thursdays (online): 3:00PM - 7:00PM
Fridays (online): 3:00PM - 7:00PM
Saturdays (in-person): TBD
Sundays (in person): TBD
1. HOW CAN I SIGN UP FOR UPDATES FROM THE VITA TEAM?
Please, email huntercollegevita@gmail.com with:
● Subject line: “VITA Interest 2024-2025”
● First and Last name and email address
● Specify if you are a NEW VITA participant or a RETURNING VITA participant
2. HOW DO I BECOME A VOLUNTEER?
Pass exams on https://linklearntaxescertification.com/
For all volunteers:
● Standard of Conduct
● Intake/Quality Review
● Basic Exam Certification (for Basic Preparers)
● Advanced Exam Certification (for Advanced Preparers, Site Officers, and Site Coordinators)
● Coordinator Exam Certification (for Site Coordinators)
A minimum score of 80% is required for all exams.
Once exams are passed there will be a mandatory lecture and software training sessions in January.
3. Available Positions/SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
● Basic or Advanced Preparer (unlimited positions, no experience needed):
● VITA Officer (12 Positions Available, prior VITA experience is a plus). Requirements:
● VITA Site Coordinator (6 Positions available)
